From a
construction site office to a delightful English guest cottage!
This guest cottage is behind the main house on
lake property and was in dire need of a makeover.
We demolished the interior, removing the
commercial carpet, walls, windows, door and the dropdown
ceiling. The windows, door, and HVAC were replaced. White oak,
with natural stain, was used for the floor.
We raised the ceiling and replaced it with
bead board, stained a dark walnut, and beams the color of the
trim. Height was added to the door and windows, inside and
outside, with custom made pediments.
The cottage was painted and the front porch
reconstructed. The same bead board was used for the porch
ceiling to create a flow from the exterior to the interior. A
lovely leaded glass door replaced the old door. A shingle roof
replaced the tin roof.
Last but not least, landscaping created the
perfect English cottage look.
